How to Remove Gravy & Grease Stains from Tablecloths, Carpet & Clothes
With a spoon, be sure to scoop up the bulk of the gravy. Absorb the remaining residue with a paper towel. Do not rub vigorously, only dab at the stain so it doesn’t set deep into the fibers. Gently massage a pinch of dishwashing soap into the carpet. Rinse the stain away well by flushing the area with water in a squirt bottle; this process will lift the gravy along with grease. Pre-treat the remaining stain with a laundry pre-wash stain remover. With a clean, damp cloth pat up the stain after about 30 minutes. If the stain was dark and deep, an enzyme cleaner should be applied and follow labels instructions.
How to Remove Dried Red Wine Stains from Couches, White Jeans & Other Clothes
Immediately blot the spill with paper towels or clean absorbent cloths. After the majority of the surface moisture has been absorbed, take a new cloth or paper towel and stand on the area to pull up residing liquid at the bottom. With a spray bottle, apply clean, cold water to the stain, but do not over saturate. Continue to blot with dry paper towels or cloth. In a bucket combine 1 TBS dishwashing liquid, 1 TBS white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Dampen a clean cloth with the mixture and apply small amounts to the stain. (Too much mixture will be difficult to rinse so it is easier contained by sponging on small doses as needed.) Blot with a dry cloth as you go to lift the stain. Once the stain has been lifted, rinse with clean water spray bottle, and pat dry with a clean towel. To ensure dryness, place a few dry, clean paper towels to the dampened area and place a heavy object on top. Allow to sit over night for optimum drying.
How to Remove Blood Stains from Mattresses, Bed Sheets & Upholstery
Begin by blotting the stain quickly. Always blot when attending this stain, as scrubbing could cause the stain to set deeper in the fibers. With paper towels, blot as much moisture as possible; blot from the outside towards the center as this will help contain the stain and prevent spreading. With a clean spray bottle apply cold clean water. Blot to remove additional liquid. In a separate spray bottle mix accordingly; for wool; 1 tsp mild, non-alkali detergent with 1 cup of water; synthetic fibers; 2 TBS household ammonia, with 1 cup cold water; oriental; 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts cold water. Spray the appropriate cleaning solution to the stain. Blot with a clean cloth until there is no residue on the cloth. You will need to change out the clean cloth often so make sure you have plenty before you begin. Repeat until the stain is removed. Rinse with the following solution in a spray bottle; 2-6 drops mild, non-alkali dish detergent to1 cup cold water. Blot once again with clean, dry cloth. Rinse a final time with plain clean water. Blot till near dry and allow to air dry.
How to Remove Red Cranberry Sauce & Juice Stains
Scrape away excess with spoon or dulled edge. Combine 1 TBS white vinegar, 1/2 tsp dishwashing detergent and 1 quart cool water. Sponge on to stain and allow it to soak in 15 minutes. Rinse away with clean water from spray bottle. If a faded stain remains, apply rubbing alcohol from a clean cloth and dab at stain until the stain has dissipated.
